Robot Restaurant is a fun place, located in the district of Kabukicho in Shinjuku, Tokyo. It is one of the must see attractions in Tokyo. It can give you an unforgettable, hilarious, and crazy experiences you would ever have during your Japan trip. Kabukicho is an entertainment and red-light district that is very popular for its nightclubs, shops, hotels, and restaurants. The restaurant sounds to you like a weirdest place you would ever experience for money in Tokyo city. Ten (10) billion Japanese yen needed to build this restaurant, was it too much?

Everyone would agree with me that Japan is a beautiful country but sometimes it may disappoint you with its weird things. Weird things happen in Japan too just like other parts of the world. Don’t be disappointed seeing the word “Weird.” In fact, I used this word comparing Hanami matsuri (Cherry Blossom Festival), Ume (Plum blossom) matsuri and so on. Traditionally, these kind of festivals and events are well recognized by foreigners but what do you know about “Robot Restaurant?” Is it very popular?

I don’t like this sort thing as I am a nature fanatic but the time I went there I truly enjoyed the shows. Photo Credit: Ray_LAC at Flickr.

I have watched so many wired shows on TV that were performed at different hotels in LA, United States. Is Japan going to do something like what LA is doing for attracting tourist from all over the world? I don’t think so because tourists never bother exploring Japan even when we don’t have LA atmosphere. I think it is not a bad idea to generate something new in Japan and Robot Restaurant is just the real example of it.

A lot of entertaining features you would be experiencing at the time you arrive at this restaurant. I call this place as a fantasy land where there are bikini-clad dancers, synchronized Japanese dancing, gigantic fembots, giant panda ninjas, virtual fireworks, taiko drums, techno music, neon tanks, dinosaurs, pole dancer, masked figures and seizure-inducing flashing neon light shows. All these features make one very amusing and entertaining. Traditionally, this sort of quirky culture is not very popular here in Japan but it is in Latin American and the USA.

Wow! A Bento Box, but It Is Expensive!

In order to enjoy the show you must need a ticket that includes light boxed meal (Bento box), a bottle of green tea plus one drink of your choice it could be a soft drink, mineral water, beer, or sake. The entry fee is 6,000 yen and 1,000 yen is for food, so don’t forget to take money before heading towards this restaurant. However, you can get a ticket that excludes the food fee.
